HAT Project

The HAT Project has been developed by A Fine Line through a three-year pilot programme (2002-4) involving 17 jewellers working on exchange residencies between four regions in England and five states in Australia. Culminating with a conference, publication and international touring exhibition.

HAT:Asia/UK/Australia 2006-07, involved 24 crafts practitioners and artists in residencies in Australia, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, together with four regions in England: and concluded with a conference of hosts and artists and an exhibition at the British Council Gallery, Delhi.

Material Response, The third phase in the development of the HAT Project extends the partnership to museums in UK, Bangladesh, India and Pakistan in focusing on the relationship between diasporic audiences and their collections. This will run from 2008-10.
